Q
Do the programs have to be seen in any particular sequence?
No. Each program is
self-contained and free-standing.
Q When
are your programs available for presentation at our venue?
We present these throughout the year and will try to meet your
scheduling needs. We offer special holiday shows
all during the months of February (Valentine's Day Month), May (Mother's Day
month), July (Independence
Day Month), and December (Christmas Winter Holiday Month). And you might
consider our "Songs That Won the War" program for your May Memorial
Day or November Veterans Day events.
Q
What do you charge to put on these
programs at our venue?
Because of the expenses we incur in preparing and performing these
programs, and the fact that each of us is a professional in our field, we do
like to receive compensation for our performances. But the charge is
moderate and negotiable. (There is a modest additional charge if Steve
Fry accompanies Bob on Bass.) Many of our programs are also presented
through the auspices of the USC Emeriti Center College (www.usc.edu/ecc),
which provides financial support.
We want to make it work for your particular organization.
Let's talk.
Q
What size
audience do you require?
There are no specific requirements.
We
have presented the programs for fewer than 25 people and more than a hundred --
even up to 200. Because of the nature of the programs (they involve
stories as well as music, and they are interactive with lots of audience
participation), it's important that audience members be alert, responsive, and
courteous.
Q
What is
the duration of each show?
60-75 minutes. We will
tailor the duration to your scheduling needs.
Q
What
equipment and materials do we have to supply?
If you do not have a grand or baby grand
piano (in tune, of course), we will provide a
keyboard. We check out your sound system and combine whatever you have
with our own sound equipment.
Q
Can we select
the songs we'd like to hear?
Sorry about that -- but no.
We try to tell the story of each program as effectively as we can with a fully-scripted
presentation that carefully integrates songs and commentary. We pay
particular attention to featuring songs that our audiences know and love. Time permitting, Bob is always
happy to play before and after the program. (Bob will also play requests
in his pre-show "concert" if you send them in at least a week in advance.
Please, no requests for classical or rock music.)
